Can a Samsung TV connect to a Yamaha?

Recently bought Samsung UE75MU8000 and a Yamaha AV receiver RX-V583. When I connect the AV receiver to the TV I get no sound to the speakers.

That’s fine as long as you are awared, when selecting PC, (1)Switch TV HDMI to appropriate port, (2)Tell Receiver to get its audio from the ARC.
