Splitters that pass ARC merely have the ARC connections wired up so you get one HDMI input spilt into two identical HMDI outputs. Each output has the ARC audio on it. Your recover doesn’t have an ARC HDMI socket so it can’t “see” the ARC audio. I have seen one of those….. Have you checked that the optical out isn’t live even if ARC is selected?
