Can I put my record player on my receiver?
Most stereo receivers have the transformer on the left side, so putting the turntable on the right side of the receiver is recommended. We strongly recommend not placing your turntable on top of your receiver – this can cause buzz issues and may also prevent your receiver from getting proper air flow.
Is phono input the same as aux?
Unless the turntable you have just bought has a phono pre-amp built in. If that’s the case plug the turntable into a spare input, like the auxiliary or “aux” ports. Don’t plug it into a “phono” input or you may blow your speakers up.
Do I need a preamp with my receiver?
Here is the short answer. Most home theater receivers already have a preamp fitted, so a dedicated preamp isn’t necessary. This is particularly true if you’re just watching content. However, if you’re a dedicated audiophile and want to get the best out of your setup, then a preamp would be a good investment.
Is it bad to have speakers next to turntable?
BAD VIBRATIONS If you put speakers near to or on the same shelf as your record player the vibration of the speakers will undermine the record player’s ability to do its job well. So try to put your turntable on something small that’s not close to the speakers, and likewise put your speakers on stands or wall brackets.
Can you plug a turntable into AUX?
Plug a turntable into an “aux” input and you may not hear anything even with the volume maxed. The reverse is also true – plug something that isn’t a turntable into the “phono” input and the signal will be so strong it may well blow your speakers.
Can you play a record player through a TV?
You can connect powered speakers to the turntable. You can try to connect it to your TV using the audio connection of an unused input. The TV may not work without video as well so you could use the video out of another device into the corresponding video connection for the same input.
