How do you remove ROM from Kenwood ts-940 radio?
Swing the mount toward the right side of the transceiver and allow it to rest on the Digital B unit shield. Remove the 8 screws from the Digital A unit shield plate. Lift the plate and rotate it to the left side of the transceiver. While avoiding contact with the pins, remove the ROM (IC2) and set it aside on anti-static foam.

Focus was quickly turned to rebuilding the AVR board and replacing opened transistors on the rear heat sync. Lots of ideas and mods were found online for this Kenwood AVR board. Unfortunately I did not keep track of where they all came from, but I do wish to thank all the previous Hams who spent time designing them over the past couple decades.
