How do I reset my Onkyo HT R520?
to reset the HT-R520 to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VIDEO 1] button, press the [STANDBY/ON] button. “Clear” will appear on display after complete.
What should I do if my Onkyo receiver turns itself off?
If all else fails, turn it off, unplug everything (except the A/C plug!) from the receiver and turn it back on. If it works, you’ve got a short in one of the cables or in what’s connected by the cable. It should be pretty easy to figure out which one. I have an Onkyo receiver that is about 5 years old.

I have an Onkyo receiver that is about 5 years old. The model # is 575 and it has been great until a few days ago. I turned it off Saturday night (it was working fine), the when I turned it on Sunday morning it turns on fine, but after about 2 seconds it turns itself off.

May sound basic, but just double check that none of the left/right speaker cables or connectors are touching. I have an Onkyo DR-S2.2 that I purchased about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. I just unpacked it from being stored for approx. 6 months (due to building a house) and hooked it up.
