How does the AVR work on a Roku TV?
With the AVR it seems that the only way to see video for all of the sources that are connected to it via HDMI is to actually go into the Roku TV OS and select the HDMI 1 (ARC) input that the AVR is connected to.
Can a Denon be connected to a Vizio TV?
I have an older Denon AVR-1312 receiver that only supports 1080P over HDMI 1.4a. This is good enough for my cable TV service. The Denon is wired to all of my surround speakers and connected to my 4K Ultra HD Vizio TV.
How to connect a Roku to a Vizio?
I connected the Roku to my TV on a 4K @ 60Hz port… Then I connected the TV to the Denon via the SPDIF optical cable… I then configured the Denon to assign the optical input to the “Game” HDMI input (which has nothing in it). So to watch Roku, I set the HDMI input on the Vizio… and set the Denon to “Game”…. Whallaa, Bob is your Uncle!
Can a Denon TV be used as a 4K receiver?

How to connect a Roku TV to a receiver using HDMI?
I have mine connected using an Onkyo receiver. On occasion, the ARC signal doesn’t make a proper connection to the receiver and I have to reboot the Roku TV to initiate handshake. But 98% of the time, it works as it should. Double-check the Yamaha user’s manual to see if you’re not missing a setting or something. Try a different HDMI cable.
Why does my Roku TV not work with arc?
The problem with “Roku TV — HDMI/ARC — Yamaha” is that Dolby Digital Plus, either auto-detected or user-selected, does not work. So, a simple fix, which still permits surround sound, is to slightly downgrade the protocol.
