How many channels does a Marantz SR 5000 decode?

Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound decoding, plus Dolby Pro Logic decoding. 70 watts x 5 channels. S-video switching, front-panel A/V inputs and optical and coaxial digital inputs. Not a review yet… I want to make one, once I am ready – for now I badly need help…

What kind of sound does Marantz sr-5200 have?

SOUND,Pre-outs to all channels, Pro Logic 2, 6.1 channel surround for dd and dts, 6 channel stereo is nice, Remote controls everything I have speaker terminals are a pain in the ass to hook up without banana plugs. No Circle surround, ES or EX, remotse a little confusing I love my SR-5200.

Which is a better brand Marantz or pioneer?

Like so many old established brands, Marantz is just a label now. Stick with Yamaha and Pioneer and are you’re probably better off in this market segment. For high end, nothing beats a MacIntosh… except a Carver, perhaps. My old standby was a Garrard Zero 100, JBL L100s, Sansui 5000X, and a Nackamichi 1000, I wish I had them now!

Which is louder the JVC or the Marantz?

This also goes louder than the JVC, where the JVC was straining the Marantz was driving them very cleanly and easily. This also proves that you really shouldn’t look at the power of receivers because the JVC was rated at 100 watts a channel and the Marantz was at 85 watts. The JVC clipped much earlier. This Marantz doesn’t have DTS ES or DDEX.

What makes the Marantz sr5005 AV receiver so good?

The Marantz SR5005 is large and very attractive because most of the functions are hidden giving it that minimalistic appearance. Like most AV receivers, the input selector and volume controls take the form of large knobs on the opposite ends of the receiver. In between these knobs is the large display.

Is there a problem with my Marantz a / V receiver?

My Marantz SR5005 A/V Receiver: No sound output. This problem arose suddenly while watching TV over DirecTV. No sound regardless of what device I select (DVR, Blue Ray Player, etc.) but the receiver switches everything correctly and the video section works fine.
