How many speakers does a pioneer vsx-817 have?
Clearing all the remote control settings: While pressing the RECEIVER button, press and hold the 0 button for three seconds. This does not work either. I am using 4 speakers (2 in front & 2 in surround back). What mode is best used: 2 Zone or Bi-amp. Apparently Bi-amp gives equal output in all 4 spkrs. (My spkrs are 6 ohm (Front) & 8 ohm (Back))

To the OP – if you don’t need to listen to a different source on the patio than what you have in the main room, you could set those speaker jacks to “Speaker B”. Jeez, they scatter the multi-zone info all over the place. No wonder it’s so difficult. I know what I’m looking for and it took awhile to find.
Where are the Zone 2 speakers on the vsx-1019ah?
I have the patio speakers connected to the Zone 2 speaker connections on the receiver, which are the Back Surround Speakers. I have selected Zone 2 in the Receiver on screen Menu for the Back Surround as well. So, those bases are covered.
Can you get Zone 2 speakers to work?
I cannot get sound from Zone 2 (my patio speakers). I have tested the speakers and they work. (I ran the receiver test of the speakers and the outside speakers have sound.) The receiver is working great inside my house.

What to do when your pioneer AMP says Zone 2?
While holding down the “Band” button, press and hold the “Power/Standby”button for about 2 seconds. 3. When you see “Reset” appear on the display, press “Auto Surround/Stream Direct”. 4. “OK” will show on the display.
