How many Watts Does a McIntosh mc250 AMP have?

The MC250 is based on on the old tube amps from McIntosh borrowing the classic output autoformers with taps at 4, 8, and 16 ohms. It has an output of 50 watts p/c at 4, 8, or 16 ohms thanks to the autoformers. Its specs are very comparable to amplifiers built today.

What kind of music does the McIntosh mc2505 play?

The style of music I appreciated is late 60’s/ 70’s brass rock. Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, Tower of Power, etc… hence the horn cabinets. The warmest section of this amplifier is the mid-bass. The looks of the MC2505 are stunning.

Which is better a McIntosh mc255 or MC275?

Only the vintage MC275 ($$$$$$$$$) sounds better than this. On top of all those glowing comments made before me, I’d like to add those $0.02 for your considerations: 1) Be prepared for an update via Audio-Classic if you get this used and non-certified. Jut $100-$150 on top, and you get better-than-new sound from this gem.

Built like a tank, warm, smooth, wow ! they now sell special loudspeakers adapters to replace the use of the screw binding posts and allow you to use banana plugs with your favorite loudspeaker cable whatever its thickness

Regarding the MC2100 he claims to have used for more than a year and described as “Worst tube amp I’ve ever heard in my life….”, I have some terrible news for Mr. Haskins: Richard…Its NOT a tube amp. That’s why you didn’t see any of those glass things inside lighting up. It uses these funny little things called transistors.

How many one star reviews does the McIntosh mc2100 have?

Check out Mr. Haskins comments below and do a search for his name on this board. You will find that on 4/13/01, he performed 4 of these “one star” reviews for the MC30, MC150, MC2100, and MC7205. All in six minutes while traveling between two different states.

How many ohms does a McIntosh AMP have?

This permits Mc to produce an amp that is a consistant 350 watts at 2-4-or 8 ohms. Rather than have one output you pick up in three areas which like having three individual output transformers. I don’t understand why no other manufacturer hasn’t picked up on this technology or a variation of that.

Why are there new McIntosh autoformers coming out?

Your friend may be recommending the new gear because the older, or rather middle age Mcintosh gear is supposedly not as good. They recently brought back one of the original Mcintosh guys and he’s been bringing the designs back up to the level of the early Mcintosh, but of course with new technology.
