How to change battery on scantronic 9448?
1. Press ‘0’ followed by ‘Enter’ (or ‘#’). 2. Enter Engineer’s code (default: 7890). If you’ve entered the correct code, all LED’s except for power, fault & service should be flashing. If this is the case, then you can go onto next step & safely open the unit without any problem to replace the battery. 3.
What was the problem with the scantronic 9448 + tamper panel?
Found the external bellbox tamper switch was duff so replaced bellbox with new Westech Armourflash box. All was well until April this year when same thing happened, measured the resisitance of the anti-tamper circuits at the 9448+ panel and it was 20 ohms which seemed fine but put in a link wire to bypass the anti-tamper circuits anyway.
How can I tell if my scantronic alarm is off?
ON = Mains present. OFF = either system is set or if was unset and engineer code entered is in eng mode. The only way to tell if system is defaulted is if the eng code is default and used to be something else then yes it’s defaulted. There are many things that could be wrong, but testing voltages etc is a good start.

Is there a tamper light on my scantronic alarm?
Battery is new and just replaced, my four digit code is not removing the Tamper light but just bleeping once. The Alarm will not reset itself to enable it to work correctly. Can you advise or assist in getting over this hurdle please. Thank you, Thanks to all for your assistance.
