How to restore battery power on Visonic PowerMax?
Identify the two left hand jumper pins marked DEF and fit a jumper across them. Restore the battery power – this will reset the control panel. Remove the battery power, and remove the link from the DEF jumper.

Is it worth a maintenance contract on a Visonic alarm?
It’s likely a case that when you swapped the battery you didn’t assemble the detector properly. That is where I would start solving it. Ps. A maintenance contract should not be more than £100 per year. Might be well worth it if you want a good functioning system that you can rely on.
