Is the Onkyo tx-nr686 up to date?
The video board of the Onkyo TX-NR686 processes 4K / 60p signals including HDCP2.2, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, and is therefore still up to date. Receivers with HDMI 2.1 will probably not be launched until next year. You have to do without a video scaler and video equalizer, which costs points. The device loops through video signals 1: 1.
Can a Onkyo receiver work on a Sony TV?
Sony tv and Onkyo receiver HDMI (ARC) issues. I have a Sony Bravia 49X720 tv and a Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver, both are brand new. I can only get sound thru my HDMI (ARC) port. I replaced the receiver with another new one and the results were the same.
Why does my Onkyo tx-646 not turn on?
Perhaps a newer Yamaha that is HDCP 2.2 compatible for future use. I’m having this same problem with my Onkyo TX-646. The receiver no longer turns on when I turn the TV on and other issues. I now have to have the receiver connected via optical cable for it to work.

How does arc work on an Onkyo tx-nr727?
It’s connected to an Onkyo TX-NR727 via HDMI. I have AT uverse also connected to the Onkyo. ARC is enabled in the receiver and the TV, they are connected via HDMI 2/ARC on the LG and Monitor Out on the Onkyo. Audio from uverse is coming via HDMI into the receiver and works fine on HDMI input 3. Video is working fine.
