Is the Yamaha r-s700 a 2 channel stereo receiver?
The new Yamaha R-S700 is a no-frills* 2 channel stereo receiver. Notice I did not label it an Audio-Video Receiver. Can a home theater junkie really enjoy such a basic device? Oh, yeah! *”No frills” does not mean without great features. Read on… The R-S700 is almost a throwback to another era. Aesthetically, it looks like a standard black receiver.
How many Watts Does a Yamaha r-s700 have?
The R-S700 is no exception. The receivers are relatively small. However, it is capable of creating beautiful audio that exceeds expectations, pushing 100 watts to each channel. This is quite a lot for a pair of speakers that are doing all the lifting. The Yamaha “house effect” is a feature that offers a little bit of extra brightness.
What kind of stereo receiver does Yamaha have?
The elite natural sound stereo receiver by Yamaha is a classic dual channel model. It provides 100 watts of crisp, clean, loud audio, ideal for both the casual music listener and the speaker aficionado.
What do coupler jacks do on Yamaha r-s700?
The coupler jacks allow the user to either hook up an external processor and use the R-S700 for its amps only, or to hook up external amplification and use the R-S700 as a pre-amp/processor only. I did not explore either option but it sure is nice to have these options.

What kind of inputs does a Yamaha S700 have?
There are four pairs of analog audio inputs, as well as some outputs: subwoofer, zone2 pre-out and main-in/out for external amplification. There is also a 12V trigger out for your external amplification. Analog buffs will delight in the inclusion of a turntable phono-jack input and grounding terminal.
