Do tube amps sound better over time?
YES! A tube amp always sounds better over time. However, one must assume a certain level of quality to begin with. A well constructed cabinet will flex and breath over time with the reverberation of sound adding to the warmth and depth much like an acoustic guitar does.
Are tube amps good for rock?
Tube amplifiers can be really great on all music, including rock.
Are cheap tube amps worth it?
In many cases, tube amps do not require the amount of maintenance that they have a reputation for. As long as you properly take care of your gear, owning a tube amp is simple and very well worth it for the tone.
Why are tube amps so expensive?
Tube amps are expensive because they adopt pre and power tubes as their primary amplification source. Each tube costs roughly $50 and can have up to 4 of them within a single unit. Secondly, these amps have more expensive components, larger cases, and more complex circuitry than solid-state amps.
What amp should I get for rock?
Fender. Fender rounds out my top three when it comes to my favorite amp brands for rock. Fender amps excel when it comes to sparkly clean sounds and smooth, buttery overdrive. This makes them an excellent choice for blues, classic rock, and country players.
Why do tube amps sound better?
Tube amplifiers sound better because of the euphonic distortions they add to the music, as well as plenty of other reasons I’ll cover below. We use tubes simply because they make the music we create sound better: smoother, warmer and cleaner. Ditto for guitar amplifiers used in creating music.
Is a tube amplifier worth it?
In summary: tube amps CAN be worth it depending on the application. They are fragile, hot and heavy, use gobs of electric power, require maintenance and cost more per Watt. OTOH, transistors will never replace the funk of Fender, the thump of Ampeg and the scream of Marshall.
Do you really need a tube amp?
No, you don’t need a tube amp. You need an amp you like the sound of that can cope with whatever you want to play.
How much does a tube amp cost?
Which is the best amp for a heresy?
The best option might be a clean MC2105 which puts out over 100WPC, I know you don’t need all that much juice for the Heresys, my amp is only a 50WPC piece. The tone of the amp is most important and since you have eliminated tubes, you have taken out a lot of amps with a warmer than standard tonality.
What kind of amplifier do I need for Klipsch heresy?
Class D or G (or H) are both capable of sounding very very good. What matters is how well implemented they are. £10 amplifiers from China, with too-small output inductors, feedback taken pre-filter, and HF mash everywhere?
Can a heresy be used as a PA?
The Heresy has always been very tube friendly and easy to drive. I used to use them with 60-watt amps as a PA for a band many years ago. So you don’t need a lot of power to get satisfying volumes. I would match them with tubes-maybe an integrated amp from Jolida. Ifsolid state, NAD has also proved to be a good match.
Do you need a lot of Watts for the heresy?
The Heresy has horn mid and tweeter and is quite revealing, tubes should mate very well with it, and you don’t need a hold lot of watts because of the efficiency of the Heresy. Paul Klipsch used tubes for what’s it worth. Don’t take my word for it, head over the the Klipsch forums and see the the Heresy owners there have to say.
What kind of Class A amp do I need for heresy III?
Low power class A amps such as Pass or Threshold are a great match. The NAD 375BEE would be a great integrated with your H3’s, but so would a 355BEE which is a few hundred dollars cheaper. 80 real watts/channel is plenty of juice to cleanly power your Heresy III’s to reference levels.

What kind of amps do I need for NAD?
The Klipsch Heritage line sounds great with tubes. But if you’re not a tube guy, your NAD should work great. I have paired vintage Sansui & Luxman SS amps and receivers with KG4s, Heresys, Chorus et al, and have always been pleased. Low power class A amps such as Pass or Threshold are a great match.
Is it possible to make a Heresy III?
Doesn’t seem likely for a Heresy III, but it’s possible. It is a fairly inexpensive process and it’s very easy to do. It is also possible that one of your drivers or midrange diaphrams are damaged. 2- Maybe the Klipsch Heritage sound is just not for you.
