What are Denon zones?

“Multi-Zone” (Zone 2 and/or Zone 3) is a feature in your Denon receiver that can produce independent audio/video signals to different parts of your home for a whole house audio (or video) application.

How do I turn off Zone 2 Marantz?

You can turn the power for Zone 2/Zone 3/HDMI zone on or off by following the steps below.

  1. Select [Setup] – [Zone Settings] from the home menu.
  2. Select [Zone2 Power], [Zone3 Power] or [HDMI Zone Power].
  3. Select [On] or [Off].

How to set up Zone 2 on a Denon?

On my Marantz remote you press the zone select button to choose zone 2 and then use the usual power and source buttons. There’s also some options for setting up the zone 2 analogue outs. AFAICT the software on the Denon is pretty much the same as my Marantz.

Can a Denon pre-out be used as an integrated amp?

Yes, you could use the zone 2 pre-out into an integrated amp and use the Denon AVR as a source (eg for digital music). You would have to try it and see how it sounds, as the pre-amp of the Denon would still have an effect. Generally you would connect your music sources directly to the integrated amp to get the best possible sound quality.

What are the features of a Denon AV receiver?

If the AV receiver is connected to a multi-room system, then the sound from the TV can be transmitted to any room in the house. Also on the list of features of the Denon AVR-X2700H are Bluetooth and AirPlay2.

What kind of RCA cable does Denon Zone 2 use?

I tried to connect the DENON “zone 2” output with an analog RCA cable (white and red RCA) but in no way was I able to send the audio to the headphone amplifier. Where am I wrong?

What kind of outputs does a Denon Marantz have?

AFAICT the software on the Denon is pretty much the same as my Marantz. BT Youview, PS4, PSVR. Note that the receiver will output audio sourced via its optical and HDMI inputs via the Zone2 analogue outputs, but only if the source is 2 channel PCM in nature.

Do you need Dolby Surround on a Denon AV receiver?

Modes are a contentious subject and it is really a matter of personal preference as to whether or not you use them. Most will use them relative to stereo 2 channel TV content and will set the AV receiver to a mode such as Dolby Surround or Neural:X for such sources, but you’d not really need such upmixing if accessing Atmos or DTS:X encoded audio.
