What causes a CD player to skip?

Compact Discs. A “skip” or “jump” is when the laser of a Compact Disc player cannot read the faulty groove or block of data. Skips are usually caused by marks blocking the path of the beam to the disc, e.g. a finger mark, hair, dirt in general, or a scratch.

What to do if your Bose CD player won’t play?

Open the CD drawer, or remove the cover of the player by removing the screws on the sides and rear of the unit. Then spray the can approximately 10″ from the lens to blow any dust off of it. If it still doesn’t work, you can opt to clean the lens eye itself, by using isopropyl alcohol, and a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the “eye”.

The plastic clear front display on our Bose Wave Radio was damaged by a hot appliance and now we cannot read the display. Is there a way to replace it if we could find the part? TIA For the last couple of years, the CD player has been ‘stuttering’ when it commences playing. If I leave it alone, it corrects itself and plays fine.

Why is my Bose CD player not working?

Hello I just purchased a used wave radio CD player and the CD player is not working. When I press play the CD was spinning and would show track 1 but nothing would happen. Now nothing is happening. I unpluged it for about an hour and tried again, but still nothing. Physcially the unit is in great shape so I doubt it has been abused.

Why does my Denon CD player not play?

My Denon player (8 years old) will play most CDs just fine, but now and then certain CDs, which played just fine before, will no longer play. The display reads Track 01, and that is all. I can skip to track 02 but it still will not play. If I put in another CD, it will play. Then if I go back to the other CD, it will not read the CD.
