What does disc error mean?
The message DISC ERR is usually displayed when the unit ca see the disc but not play the disc. This usually occurs when the disc is scratched or dirty. The message NO DiSC is displayed when the unit simply can not read or detect the disc at all. This can also occur if the disc is scratched or dirty.
What causes disc error?
Simply put, a disk error could be caused by several reasons such as incorrect boot order, BIOS issue, IDE cables failure, incorrect MBR configuration, faulty hard drive, etc. When meeting such an issue, no matter how many times you restart your computer by pressing “Ctrl+Alt+Del” keys, this error still exists.

Why does my CD player send back a ” no disc ” message?
(I’m out of canned air.) The player turns on and the radio works fine, but every cd spins for a moment and then gets the “no disc” rejection. I can’t find out much information anywhere else.

Crys, if you cleansed the lens properly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth and it still gives you the same error, it is most likely that the laser that needs to be replaced. Why is my Bose disc not playable for every CD?
My name is XXXXX XXXXX I’d be happy to try and assist you with your issue. Unfortunately there is only a few things to do here assuming you know the CDs you are using are store grade, studio produced CDs. Bose systems sometimes have an issue reading dual layer discs and other cheaper burned discs.
