What happened to Humax Freesat?

After an association for over the last 11 years, Humax will no longer be making and manufacturing Freesat branded satellite receivers and PVR’s. From there on Humax was chosen as the only brand that would be installed as it was the most preffered model by our customers and by far gave us the least problems.

Can you transfer recordings from one Freesat box to another?

Unfortunately, no. The recordings are within the hard drive of the box and therefore cannot be transferred.

Firstly the usb drive has to be formatted in either FAT32 or EXT3 (FAT32 has a 4GB file limit). Install the Custom Firmware and you can copy recordings directly to a PC without using USB.

Humax 1000s is what I,m using right now. It has a built in hard drive. This is what it records to and plays from, not a lot different to a sky box. Recordings are booked through the EPG, again, almost identical to a sky box. You cannot record to an external drive.
