If the tamper on the device whose tamper is being manually held down does not clear, then you can assume it is a defective tamper switch. View Alarm Grid’s video; Honeywell 5800C2W: Fixing a Cover Tamper Did you find this answer useful? We were unable to load Disqus.
How does the Honeywell Optima alarm system work?
The Honeywell Optima / Accenta Alarm system, as shown above, and below, doesn’t have a digital display to show faults or error message instead you shall the Tamper Light come on should the system detect a tamper fault through the control panel, intrusion detectors such as the PIRs, Door Contacts, Vibration Sensors etc or external siren tamper.
Can a tamper fault cause an alarm to go off?
This problem has happened twice in the past week and on both occasions the Alarm system was Off and it just alarmed on the Keypad and the outside Bell Box strobes were activated. On checking the Alarm keypad it showed the fault as a Tamper alarm but it did not show which Zone the fault was on.
Is the Honeywell Accenta Gen 4 tamper alarm good?
I recently Installed a Gen 4 LCD system into a friends house, and it has triggered in both “set” mode and “day” mode with a tamper fault. This was a sporadic fault, and when tested, the loop tamper, keypad tamper, and bellbox tamper were all good with low resistance.
