What is proximity access?
Proximity card access control is the most common access security system installed today. Featuring 125 kHz proximity technology, proximity access control systems work with 125 kHz technology readers and credentials — printable PVC cards, clamshell cards, key fobs and tokens.
What is inside a proximity card?
Prox cards look the same as the typical 30 mil PVC card but they have an embedded metallic antenna coil inside which hold the encoded data. However, other proximity products include clamshell cards, key fobs and stickers.
