What kind of cable do you need for a Lorex security camera?

Lorex offers several types of security camera systems, which each have somewhat different installation requirements: NVR systems utilizing power-over-ethernet (POE) technology only require a single Ethernet cable to connect camera and NVR. This cable provides both power and video transmission.

What do I need to install a Lorex security system?

A security system from Lorex includes everything you need to get your system up and running right out of the box. Each camera (whether sold separately or as part of a system) includes the necessary parts to connect and mount your cameras. Each camera typically includes: 60ft of cable (either BNC or Cat5e – per camera)

Can you use a Lorex camera on Apple TV?

No problem. Simply make sure your Lorex recorder is on the same network as your Apple TV™ (Gen 4 or newer) and watch your Lorex recorder on your TV through the Lorex Home Apple TV App. Each analog security camera comes with a siamese BNC cable that provides video transmission and power to the camera.

How does Lorex home center connect to WiFi?

Connect the Lorex Home Center and Wi-Fi cameras to a power source. Doorbells and Floodlights use existing wired connections for power. Pairing these products, as well as accessory sensors, to the Lorex Home Center can vary. Please see the our Pairing Guide for more information.

Can a Windows 7 Monitor work with a Lorex DVR?

Connect the USB cable to a different USB port on the DVR. If that does not work, power off the monitor / TV and DVR with the USB cable still connected. Power on the monitor / TV first, and then power on the DVR. Monitor is not Windows 7 Touch compatible. Lorex DVR’s are only compatible with touch screen monitors that are Windows 7 Touch compatible.
