When do we say power has been restored?
We (folks in California) sometimes say “Power has been restored.” In my experience, the word power is used much more often than electricity when referring to the stuff coming out of a (ahem) power socket, even though, strictly speaking, it is a less accurate term. Power is down on the entire peninsula.
What is the correct way to say that the electricity has come back on?
PG&E, the utility that provides electricity in the San Francisco Bay Area, always announces after a blackout that “Service has been restored to the affected areas.” But users usually say something along the lines of “Power’s back on” or “The electricity is working again.” – Sven Yargs Aug 26 ’15 at 20:46

After a power failure, when the power came back on the well pump, dryer, electric stove, all will not work. I reset all breakers and still no good. I am just trying to figure out if the issue is in the house or the power company.

Planned outages usually last about one to three hours.
What should I do if my power keeps going off?
DO NOT TOUCH THE MAIN INCOMING LINES WITH THE BIG WIRES ON THEM. Next I would remove the outlets in the effected area and check each one for loose connections. If there back stab then they need to be changed so the wire goes around the screw instead. If the first outlet in a daisy chain is loose all the other ones will loose power.
