Why does my Alexa not work anymore?
If Alexa and your Echo aren’t responding, try changing the wake word and see if that gets your smart speaker and digital assistant back up and running. Reset the Alexa-enabled device to factory defaults. If all else fails, try resetting the Alexa-enabled device back to factory defaults to fix the issue.
How do I contact Alexa customer service?
1. Call the general help number toll-free at 1-877-375-9365. 2. Go to this special Contact Us page and select Amazon Devices > your Echo name > Echo Devices > under “Select issue details,” Something Else > under “How Would You Like To Contact Us,” select Phone.
Why is my echo DOT not responding to me?
Often, an unresponsive Echo can be the result of a faulty Wi-Fi connection. To start, try performing a hard reset of all your network hardware; starting with your Echo Dot, then your router, then your modem. The closer you can get your Echo Dot to the main location of your router, the better off you’ll be.
Why is my Alexa not working the way it should?
Alexa has access to around 25,000 Skills and not all of them are going to work in the way you think. If a particular Skill isn’t doing what it’s told, it may just be a bad Apple. However, some might need a little finagling into proper performance.
Do you need a cell phone for Alexa?
No – found that out today when finally setting up device for Mom. When I initially ordered these devices back in September (pre-order for December) it only mentioned that you needed a cell so Alexa could access the contact list – not that it had to be a “working” cell. Mom is 91.
Do you have to have an Amazon Echo to use Alexa?
As of now, you’ll find Alexa in the Amazon Echo, Tap and Echo Dot smart speakers, which sell on Amazon for $180, $130 and $90, respectively. The one catch here is that — for now at least — you’ll need to use an Alexa device to order an Echo Dot.
Are there any third party skills for Alexa?
Many of these third-party Skills pertain to the smart home, and allow Alexa to control even more kinds of connected devices. Unlike her native capabilities, however, the Skills require “invocation words” that tell Alexa what Skill you want her to activate.
