Why does my garage door not close in sunlight?
Sunlight can interfere with the sensors’ beam and cause them to act as if an object blocks them. Many years ago, sensors weren’t common. Nowadays, for safety reasons, most garage doors have them.
How to compensate for the Sun confusing my garage door opener?
It doesn’t matter if the emitter is being blasted by sunlight; only the detector needs to be protected. Of course you might just be changing the time of day of your problem if the other side of the door is sunlit at a different time. 🙂 Don’t forget to swap the wiring at the opener unit as well of course.
Why is my garage door sensor not working?
Know that if you have more than one door adjacent to each other, the sensors may affect the smooth operation of the doors by providing a false signal. Once in awhile, make sure that the sensors work properly. You can do it by sliding an object between them while closing the door.

What happens if there is no green light on the sensor?
If you don’t see a green light on one side, there is no power going to the sensor. This is when you will want to check wiring connections at the sensors and the motor head. Linear is non-polarity so it does not matter which wire is connected to the other… you don’t have to keep them matched up.
