Why does my yamaha receiver keep turning off?

Yamaha receivers have a built in computerized protection circuit, which will activate in certain over-current conditions. This means that the unit is drawing too much current through the amplifier or power supply, and the built in computer turns the receiver off.

Why does my Yamaha receiver keep shutting down?

Yamaha receivers (like many) will shut off/go into protect mode if there is a short or if a speaker is not properly connected. And, as Robert noted above, they will also shut down if there is not enough available current to properly power the amp during loud passages. You need to determine the reason your receiver is shutting down.

What to do when your home theater receiver keeps shutting down?

Disconnect one of the speaker wires from the back of the receiver. If it shuts down again then disconnect another one. Keep doing this until it stays on or you run out of wires to disconnect. Also, make sure all speakers are set to Small in the setup menu and the crossover to 100 or higher regardless of what speakers they are or how big.

Is the Yamaha xx30 a good audio receiver?

The low end Yamaha’s (signified by the xx30) aren’t known for having very strong amp sections. Other than that I really don’t have any idea’s. Un-fortunately you might just have a bad receiver . I purchased the 5 speaker Bose system.

Why does my Yamaha rx-v685 shut off on its own?

My Yamaha rx-v685 receiver keeps shutting off on its own periodically, sometimes after a couple of hours and sometimes after a few minutes. I can turn the unit back on and all is fine until it turns itself off again. I checked all the speaker wires and even disconnected them and that did not solve the problem.

Why are my Yamaha Musicast 20 speakers not working?

Since disconnecting my MusiCast 20’s the receiver has not shut off. It seems that the problem is with the wireless speakers. The speakers work when used to stream music to them. A Yamaha tech told me there might be a problem with the transmitter/receiver internal antenna of the speakers and to send it in for a replacement. I hope he is correct.
