Why is there no sound coming out of my Yamaha sound bar?

First, power off the AV Receiver/Sound Bar and TV, disconnect all the HDMI cables, and unplug the power cables. Connect the AV Receiver/Sound Bar and TV with an OPTICAL cable instead of an HDMI cable. If the sound comes normally, please change other HDMI cable.

How do you get sound through an optical cable?

Make sure the optical cable is firmly connected to both the TV and the home theater or stereo system. Try changing the channel on the TV to another digital broadcast. Go into the Sound or Speakers menu of the TV and select External Speakers or Audio System.

How do I connect my Yamaha speakers to my TV?

Just use the HDMI 1 port on the back of your TV. Connect the other end of the cable to your receiver. You’re looking for something labeled HDMI Out; it’s usually a different color. If necessary, connect a digital optical cable to the back of your TV (optical out), and the other end to your receiver (optical in).

Why is my sound bar not working on my TV?

Sound may not output from AV Receiver/Sound Bar due to temporary HDMI identification error or recent software update on the TV. First, power off the AV Receiver/Sound Bar and TV, disconnect all the HDMI cables, and unplug the power cables. After five minutes, reconnect HDMI cables and power cables. Next, please check the following 3 points.

Can a Yamaha sound bar be connected to a LG TV?

The HDMI-ARC has no advantage over optical so don’t worry about it. Just saves a cable in some cases. The next version of HDMI will have lossless audio over ARC so in the future that won’t be the same. I have a LG 55UB850T TV & a Yamaha YAS-207 sound bar. I have connected the pair via HDMI using ARC HDMI 2 on the TV and the ARC HDMI on the Yamaha.

How can I connect my sound bar to my TV?

Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT (ARC) port on your audio device. Connect one end of the HDMI cable (sold separately) to any HDMI IN port on your TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI OUT port on your audio device. Then, connect an optical audio cable from the TV’s Optical digital audio out to OPTICAL IN on your audio device.

How do I Turn Off the Yamaha sound bar?

Basically, Turn off the Yamaha. Then, while off, hold down the surround button for three seconds. One light should glow and the unit should then turn on. To disable, just repeat. To enable CEC, turn off the Yamaha. Then, while off, hold down the HDMI button for three seconds. Hope that helps everyone else having this conundrum!

How can I connect my Yamaha sound bar to my TV?

There is no ARC HDMI input so the Yamaha manual says to connect both an HDMI cable from the output on the soundbar to an HDMI input on the TV as well as connecting the Digital Audio cable. I’ve tried many of the open HDMI ports on the tv to no avail.

What should I do if I Can’t Hear My Sound on my TV?

Check the sound after completing each step. Disconnect the cables between your TV and the home theater system or home audio system, and then reconnect them. Make sure the cables are secure at both ends. Verify whether your TV has an ARC label on the HDMI port.

What to do if there is no sound from an AV receiver?

If the sound comes normally, please change other HDMI cable. If still no sound output from the AV Receiver/Sound Bar even after checking above points, please confirm if the AV Receiver/Sound Bar and the TV have the HDMI Control function. Was this answer helpful? Thank you for your feedback!
